BJ bible project 2019

(Scroll down for English translation)

diecutsWhen I started  at the Theological Faculty, years ago, the Jewish shema was one of the first things I learned. Learned to sing. In Hebrew. The shema is a special prayer that expresses the absolute belief in Adonai, God. We can read this prayer in Deuteronomy.

Now, a while ago, I stumbled across the videos of the gentlemen behind ’the bible project’. And they have made  a series of movies around this shema. 6 videos about the 6 key words in this prayer. My head started spinning:  This would be the perfect starting point for a Bible / bullet Journaling study … or challenge … 😅 So Lucinde and I started to elaborate this idea.

Instead of a funky and fast-paced challenge (such as 31daysofbiblicalwomen 2017 or 2018), we decided to create a project in a calm but well thought-out pace over a longer period of time.  So we want the #BJbibleproject to start from January the 5th. (BJ stands for Bible Journaling or Bullet Journaling). How awesome is it to start the year contemplating on the core value of His Word?  The 6 key words in these 2 verses are going to lead us creatively and spiritualy for 6 months. We have asked the team behind the bibleproject and they are fine when we use their videos in this context. How cool is that!

How What and Who?

Every first Saturday of the month, from January to June, Lucinde or I will post a blog with the link to the matching video, a personal reflection + example (s) of our creative process in the Bible or bullet / faith journal. For those who also like to think about the key word  in other contexts; we also refer to other Bible verses. In this way you yourself can choose how deep, long and wide, you want to dive into the matter.

It is up to you as a participant to watch the  video, read the blog and the texts in your own temp during the month. And – for thode who like to; to process this in their own creative way. It does not have to look like what we create! It is not about how beautiful something becomes. It’s about the process and the time spending with your Father.

Crea packages!

On top off it all: Lucinde has put together small creative packages for each month. The content will challenge you creatively and with the code #BJbibleproject! you get a nice discount! This might encourage you to digg even deeper into the Word and gain new inspiration and motivation every month! As you can see in the photo; she designed cute mini die cuts out of my drawings!

Do you join?

Of course at your own pace and within your own possibilities! On Facebook as well as via Instagram we invite everyone to share their own creative process. Whether it is in an artjournal, bullet journal or in your bible, whether you draw, letter, photoshop or stamp, cut and paste;  share your process, your thoughts and your creation; you have no idea how much God works through it to encourage, teach, … and inspire others.
